It's all in the Milk

It seems like milk comes in slightly different packaging from country to country. Very interesting. They are all pretty cool and seem to have good reasons for being a particular way in their respective countries.

In the US, large refrigerators abound, thus the most common...gallon of milk.

In the UK the fridges are often half the size of their American counter parts...thus the one, two, four, and six pint containers.

In Canada, the bags of milk prevail. No bulky plastic container, just pitch the bag and you are good to go.

And in Australia, the paper carton wins the day.

interesting, you think everything is the same everywhere you go, when you are an arrogant untraveled American like myself. Lucky for me you are here to keep me strait. :) Love you.

Arrogant? No, no, you talk to anybody in any country and they are just as surprised that it is different elsewhere.

This is quite interesting. But how many of those stinkin' pints would I need to get 7 gallons of milk/week?!?!? Does this mean we drink to much milk or it's a good thing we live where we do?

Having milk in bags has been one of the strangest things for me to get used to the past few months! The bags sure don't fit as well in the refrigerator as gallon jugs, especially since we go through quite a bit a week. Don and I are still debating what size of a hole should be cut in the tip of the bag - he goes for the largest possible, while mine tend to be quite small - all the better for pouring accurately, I say.
