Tea or Coffee?

Ok, it is cold here today! We had soup for lunch and tea & coffee cups are piling up in the sink. It was after doing the lunch dishes that I realized....and please tell me if you do the same.....I have favorite cups. The funny thing is, they are not the same ones for coffee and tea. Bert isn't so fussy. Just give him the largest mug possible and he is a happy man.

But here are my favorites.

For coffee....
special garage sale find....
a Starbucks from Netter.....

a cute one from Mom....

For tea....
both of these awesome ones are from Mom....

from the Partick Church in Glasgow.....
a gift from a dear friend in Scotland...
So that's it. Lots of cream in the coffee and lots of milk in the tea. Yum.

Bits of the Day

Just a couple of pretty terrible pictures here....but it is what I have been up to today. We had a 'girls club' meeting today and made little Bird Mobiles. Yay, I love them and we had a ton of fun! Martha Stewart.com folks. It is a great place.

One more week before school starts. Summer 2009 went faster than any summer in all of my 28 years. Wow. Bring on the fall!

Mouse in the House

A week or two ago, I noticed that we were not the only living creatures in our house. I hadn't seen any actual mice but it was pretty evident they were around. I promptly went out to Dollaroma and bought a four-pack of mouse traps.

The first night we caught one. Initially I felt just a little bit bad....cause mice are kind of cute.... He had only gotten into the spelt in my cupboard. That was pretty good. Usually they test a little of everything they walk past. Then we caught another one about a week later.

Yesterday I went into the closet under the stairs to the attic to get something out of a bag and this is what I found.

I no longer felt bad about ending his life.

He even ate my glycerin soap stash.

And was apparently a mouse after Bert's own heart. He had desperately tried to get into the Ferrero Rocher Chocolates. Bert is pretty sure they are still safe to eat.....

And the bag was on this hook, which is above my head. Nimble little rodent.

Hopefully this is the end of our little invasion...at least till fall.
