North Uist

For a quick rundown, we are now on the Isle of North Uist. It is not a large island. One of the most common ways of getting to the island is by taking the 1 ½ hour ferry journey from the Isle of Skye. The ferry leaves only once or twice a day (alternating).

I went for a spin around the island this morning. It was so sunny and beautiful out, it couldn't be passed up. The loop of the main road on the island took about and hour.

There are some houses and a little shop nearby, but it is out in the country. Most of the signs marking villages have the Galiec (spelling?) in bold, and then English in small underneath.

This is the church and the manse. It is a huge house! Ten chimneys...

From the third story looking down. There were some pictures of Bert in his study, but they seem to have disappeared....

Wow, you are out in the middle of no where. But that house is huge. How do you even find each other? Hope you are staying warm.

So is the mans really bigger than the church or is it a 'tropical conclusion'?

I am so glad you guys are having this wonderful adventure. Your life will always be different because of the interesting people and cultures you've been experiencing. You are truly blessed. And living in old manses is neat -- ours in KY was 200 years old and was a little bit spooky. We think of you often and continue to pray for your ministry.

Blessings,
Alex

oh, Kryna, that place looks really cool! Is it haunted? Just with former pastors and stuff, so that shouldn't be too scary! What's your new address? Mother is asking...let me know. I like your "isle"

Lauri,
Kryna once again has no address. They have them moving from place to place the last few weeks and for the next month or so. This house is just their home base for now when they aren't some where else. If that makes any sense. It their car could have a mailing address that would be the best bet. But for now you can still use the Aultbea address and it will get to them where ever they are. As of the last week and 1/2 and until later this week they have had no phone or interent. Hopefully we will hear from them Wed. And then she might post after that. Her momma, Evonne

Wow, it is great to see all of the photos. You both are in our prayers; our hope is that you will end up in a place that both you and Bert will be happy with. Take care, and i hope to talk to you sometime in the near future.
